SSUB 19th Parting Social held

The Sumi Kiphimi Kuqhakulu, Bangalore held its 19th Social Parting for the outgoing students' and working people on 16th March 2010 at United Theological College, Millers Road, Benson Town.

Altogether, there were about 80 Sumi community members participating in the said programme. Pastor Ahoto Chophi from SABC gave the Exhortation speech. He exhorted the outgoing members for their valuable contributions for the community in diaspora and also encouraged those staying back to continue in their efforts to connect with the community.

Rev. Mulato Chishi from IEM and his family who are also leaving Bangalore for good after spending half decade spoke on behalf of the outgoing members.

The other highlights of the programme includes reading out of the annual reports from the President, General Secretary and the Finance Secretary respectively.

Graduation at SABC

The graduation ceremony at the Southern Asia Bible College took place on 7th March 2010. Two of our students' Mr. Pito Assumi and Ms. Kalen Achumi successfully completed their Master of Divinity course. Along with them, Ms. Vitoli Yeptho also completed her Master of Divinity as an external student. Filoka Chishi, President and Tokato Yeptho, Advisor represented the Union on the occasion and wished them best in their ministry ahead on behalf of the Union Officers..........

New Life Bible College Graduation

The President and some of his colleagues attended the Graduation ceremony of New Life Bible College at Hennur Cross. One of its member; Mr. Vikiho Assumi got two awards, academic and best hosteler. He is qualified under Centre for Music Education. Others who graduated along with him includes one CME, two MDiv and Two BTh. The Union Officers congratulate all of them for their successful completion of the course and wish them a blessed Ministry ahead!

SSUB celebrates 19th Freshers’ Meet

The Sumi Students’ Union, Bangalore organized the 19th Annual Freshers’ Meet for the new students’ on 15th August 2009 at United Theological College, Benson Town. The programme started with a prayer from Kughavi Chishi and a special song was presented by Hiboto Aye and Kivi Shohe. Mrs. Vikhuli Bogi (YWAM) exhorted the gathering and Rev. Mulato Chishi (IEM) prayed for the students. The meet also selected Ayito Kiba and Vinokali Chophy as Mister and Miss Fresher for the year 2009-10. The programme was made possible with the generous contribution from Sumi working people in Bangalore.

Tuluni 2009

The Sumi Students' Union, Bangalore organised the Tunluni Festival on 18th July 2009 at the SCMI Programme Centre. There was a formal programme which was followed by cultural activities like Spear-Kicking, Meat-eating and so on. At the end of the day, the festivity ended with a sumptous Sumi-Special meal with Pork and Axone. The feast was made possible with the generous contribution from Mr. Hoto Yepthomi from Dimapur.

SSUB Elects New Team of Office Bearers

The Sumi Students’ Union, Bangalore in its last session has elected a new team of Office bearers for the tenure 2009-11. The Union will be led by Ngukato Chishi (President), Filoka Chishi (Vice-President), Hinotoli Tuccu (General Secreatry), Kunoto Chishi (Assistant General Secretary), Kinisho Kinny (Finance Secretary), Atoka Yeptho (Assistant Finance Secretary), Mikato Yeptho (Sports secretary), Lucy Ayemi (Cultural Secretary) and Amento Assumi (Representative to NSUB). The team will also have Zahkato Sema, Tokato Yeptho and Khekato Chisho as Advisory board members. The Union will continue to have its Banker at the residence of Rev. Mulato Chishi.

The Union further requests all Sumi Students’ to cooperate and support the new team for its smooth functioning. It also calls upon all Sumi communities to contact the President (9964045884) or the General Secretary (9008825910) for any help the Union could render.
